Dark Circles Under the Eyes
Dark circles under the eyes can be an aggravating problem. In certain ethnic groups, such as Indians, the problem appears to be more prevalent. There is disagreement about the causes of dark circles, and there are probably several causes. Most of the time we are in a situation where light is coming from above. If there is apparent bulging of the lower eyelid skin, this can create a shadow that appears as a dark semicircle. This is one of the most common causes of this problem. Other causes are increased pigmentation of the skin and possibly sluggish blood flow in the area, allowing darker colored blood to become visible. People often blame lack of sleep for this discoloration, but it probably does not play much of a role, if any.
We have been able to give significant help to people afflicted with dark under eye circles. The first approach is to fill the tear troughs, usually with Restylane, and eliminate the shadows under the eyes. If this is not enough we use the Medlite C6 laser. This laser tends to reduce pigment and encourage the formation of new collagen within the skin. The combination of these effects is usually effective in reducing discoloration under the eyes.

I had terrible eye bags removed about 25 years ago. But now I have dark circles and hollow places under my eyes. Would Restylane be indicated for that?
Thanks!
Possibly, but you would have to be seen for a definitive opinion. Your use of the term "hollow places" suggests that there may be role for filler. Many of us now recognize that there was a lot of unnecessary lower lid surgery done in the past, and a lot less is being performed now.
