Pre-emptive Botox
This week I had one of my established patients come in for her first Botox treatment (Botox information) . She pointed between her eyebrows and said "I want to get rid of these". There was nothing visible. When I mentioned that, she frowned and, pointing to the wrinkle line that was now visible, said "I can see it starting to develop."
Coming in when she did is a very smart move. It's much easier to prevent the formation of lines with Botox than it is to make established lines go away completely with Botox.
At a recent American Academy of Dermatology meeting there was a poster presentation of a pair of identical twins. One twin had gotten Botox regularly for 12 years. The second twin had gotten Botox occasionally during that time period. neither twin had received any Botox for 4 months before the photos were taken. At rest the twin who got the regular Botox had no lines visible on her forehead, while the second twin had noticeable forehead lines. When they raised their eyebrows, the first (Botoxed) twin had noticeably shallower folds and wrinkles than the second. The first twin's forehead muscles had atrophied (shrunk).
A similar but less dramatic effect was visible in the crow's feet lines.
Starting Botox before lines are visible has great advantages. However, human nature being what it is, most people wait until they can actually see something they don't like before they take action. This still produces significant and noticeable improvement, but it's not the way to get the best results.

Before a single line on your face becomes noticeable, go and consult your most trusted cosmetic surgeon. As you have said it's much easier to prevent the formation of lines with Botox than it is to make established lines go away completely with Botox.

If we're seeing some signs of aging, try the natural ways first, like minimizing the intake of caffeine eating healthy foods and liquid intake stop staying late at night, but if it doesn't made any changes, then it's time consult a doctor for surgery for best and safer options.
